| Thanks to everyone who made it out to our Athfest show last week. It was a tearful affair for some, and all in all it was a great way to say goodbye for now. Gnarly G became Clarence Clemons for a brief moment. We all sweated our liquor out much too quickly. Thanks to Jazzchronic, Mass Solo Revolt, and Fester Hagood for being there for the experience.
Who knows what comes next? We’ll finish the EP and chances are good that it will a) be out late Summer/early Fall…. b) contain a little more material than we originally intended… that’s the goal at the moment. Chances are very good that we’ll end up playing a few shows around the area to welcome its release. Meanwhile, 2/5 of the Bros are rocking it away in Choptop…. Dennis Wilson is somewhere in the woods… Chris is still one of the greatest guitarists I’ve had the pleasure of playing with…. and I’m going to start playing out and about, and continue writing once I’m in New York… but the Brothers Gore are far from gone. More to come. Cheers! |

I never like to say that the band has broken up. In fact, in my prior two bands, we never officially did. I like leaving it open to the possibility that something else may happen, and in the case of The Brothers Gore, I think something might.
I’m moving to New York City. I will continue to write and even play shows in the city, and even continue to write Brothers Gore material. I hope the Bros will play more shows soon, but for now, our Rye Bar ATHFEST show this Saturday night is our last….. or “last” if you will. DPW never had a last show. Neither did The Most. The EP will be released down the road, and you never know, shows could come from that.
We’re playing ATHFEST on Saturday night at 12am (technically Sunday). Please come out and say “goodbye”.
Your pals in rock,
The Brothers Gore

Greetings and salutations all! We had a busy weekend with TWO shows in Atlanta. We kicked the weekend off with a show at Red Light Cafe with Leadcar Holiday and Standard 8. Thanks to Rick and all of the good, good people at Walk To Run for setting this up. Leadcar Holiday and Standard 8 were fantastic, and we had a great time playing with them. Hopefully we can get back to Red Light soon.
Sunday night found us back at Smith’s Olde Bar with Holy Liars (some of the sweetest guitar action I have experienced in a VERY long time) and Ben Deignan….nice guy, great musicians, very jazzy and tight….and the oddest pairing with The Brothers Gore. We love playing at Smith’s and we’ll be back there on May 7th for 500 Songs For Kids.
Last night, Steve, Chris and I had the pleasure of seeing the legendary Carbon/Silicon live in Atlanta. I can’t remember the last time I actually stood up front for an entire show, but we did last night. Didn’t move. We wouldn’t budge. No matter how many punk kids wanted us to move, we were firmly rooted in front of one of our idols….one of our major influences….. Mick Jones from The Clash….. and don’t forget the legendary Tony James from Generation X (and the London SS with Jones).

It was an absolutely brilliant show. I even got to shake Mick’s hand at the end of the set, and he passed on a used guitar pick to me. Guitar pick! When was the last time that I was honestly excited about getting a pick from an idol……. probably in ‘97 when Rick Nielsen lobbed one right at my head (and I still carry it in my wallet like the big fucking rock dork that I am). If you haven’t picked up the debut album from Carbon/Silicon called “The Last Post”, you’re missing out on some truly classic James/Jones material.
So the week could end there…….BUT…. we are playing this weekend at Allen’s, and we seriously getting geared up for that. It’s a different atmosphere for us at Allen’s, different from our usual rock show. We drink beers, eat burgers, chat with the crowd, whip out some classic rock covers, and just relax and have fun. It’s a complete “Evening With The Brothers Gore”, and if we have enough alcohol in our systems, chances are….. we’ll play anything you like….. if we know it, or not. We’re bringing our good pal Kris Langley (soon to be “formerly of Television Buzz” with us, and hopefully he’ll join us for some of our set as well.
